About the game:

Ghornon's Hammer is a fantasy game taking place in Duhrnin. In the first campaign, called "The Legend", the player takes the role of a human commander called Tehnandor who is ordered to search for the legendary Hammer of Ghornon, the last chance of the humans to survive the invasion of the Sgard, a race of monsters that feed on darkness.

Ghornon's Hammer will be a Turn-Based Strategy-Adventure game, combining roleplaying elements with tactics and strategy. The players (human, computer) take turns in moving their units and using them to fight, trying to accomplish mission objectives.

About the code:

Ghornon's Hammer is coded in C++. It makes use of SDL/OpenGL for graphics and input and of libxml2 for configuration files.

About the project:

Ghornon's Hammer is an attempt to respond to the lack of quality, free Open Source 3D games. By devoting our time to develop this game, we want to support the Open Source community, especially the Linux OS, because we believe that freedom (as propagated by Open Source software) is a way to a better world. 'Free by design' means, that Ghornon's Hammer will be developed to run on different architectures and operating systems, so that the user is free to choose whatever system he likes. However, our attention will be directed towards free operating systems.

We develop Ghornon's Hammer during our free time and do not require the users to pay for playing the game. This is the way of free software.
